Pharmacist, KNUST.
Accra, Ghana

Gabriel Agana is a resilient and purpose-driven emerging pharmacist, researcher, and social innovator from Akuse in Ghana’s Eastern Region, currently pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at KNUST under the HAS Fellowship Scholarship. His academic journey demonstrates consistent excellence, from being named Best BECE Candidate in his Junior High School to earning multiple Senior High School awards, including Overall Best Student and Best WASSCE Candidate in his school. In addition to his academic achievements, Gabriel serves as Chief of Staff of GPSA-KNUST and a National Executive Council Member of YALI YAAG, where he contributes to youth leadership, healthcare innovation, and community impact projects. He is the founder of Renolab, a health-tech startup focused on early kidney disease detection in underserved communities, and is passionate about entrepreneurship as a tool for solving pressing societal challenges. Beyond his academic pursuits, Gabriel considers himself a mature young man with a wealth of life experiences. These experiences, both positive and negative, have played a crucial role in shaping his character and aspirations. The untimely loss of his father at the tender age of 11 marked one of the most tragic events in his life; however, rather than succumbing to adversity, this challenging experience served as a source of strength, teaching him that life does not always follow a predetermined path and as a result, Gabriel has developed a deep commitment to philanthropy. One of his life goals is to give back to society, driven by the belief that true impact comes from utilizing one’s skills to make a positive difference. As a future pharmacist and research scientist, he envisions contributing to the well-being of society by making it a healthier place and addressing the needs of the less fortunate, aiming to put food on the tables of those who are suffering. His vision is to build scalable, impactful solutions that address both health and socioeconomic needs, working toward a healthier and more equitable society.
